Two wins and two losses in the weekend just gone, with no fixture for the 1st XI.
A last minute penalty winner for the 2nd XI, cooly slotted by Charlie Johnson who can legitimately claim that goal after the dubious goals panel from last week…a tense game that swung in favour of either team during the match. The switch to 3-4-3 to find goals paid dividends with the other beyond the OG, going to Adam.
The 3rd XI lost although no idea how. Dominating the game throughout, the game should have been put to bed. However, a fluke of a 30-yard lob/shot/cross settled the match in the favour of the oppo.
The 4th XI came away with a great 1-0 win, although seldom any detail on the game beyond gaffer Ed Ryan’s comment: “proper battle”. If he said it aloud {‘pwopa-battle’} or something similar…
A difficult loss for the 5th XI after being up 1-0 at half-time and controlling the game. But a few goals from the opposition and the team struggled to maintain the intensity, falling away further. The goal from Danyal though – one of the best of the year. 28 yards out, falling away but still smashing it off the bottom of the bar.
More games this weekend, make sure you’re available.
